Unit Test- Evolution Musical
In this final project, the students will compose a song or rap using some of the key vocabulary terms and main concepts presented in the unit. The required vocabulary terms are (but not limited to): Evolution, Charles Darwin (or just Darwin), Survival of the fittest, Natural selection, taxonomy, Carolus Linnaeus (or just Linnaeus). Essay Assessment
In my cooperative learning lesson, students are expected to complete a three paragraph summary defending their position on the use of antibiotics. They are required to answer three questions: what information was useful? What information was not useful? Any surprising information? Graded on completeness and proper incorporation of facts.
In my integrative lesson, students are required to write alternative scenarios (about a page in length) in which the student chooses a plant or animal adaptation and describes how the trait may have evolved according to Lamark and Darwin's point of view.
